Dr. Kirshner Addresses the Humane Society of the Desert

Approximately 150 animal lovers and supporters of the Humane Society of the Desert enjoyed a presentation on animal welfare by Dr. Lori Kirshner at the Society’s winter gala. The talk, “What’s Hot in Animal Rights,” was a fast moving a provocative look at recent news, progress and challenges concerning all animals around the globe. Lori covered topics including the use of animals in entertainment, breed-specific legislation, and cosmetic testing on animals. Attendees were encouraged to advocate not only for dogs and cats, but also for all animals everywhere.
